NativePixelFormats

Gets the list of PixelFormats supported natively by Paint.NET. A document created in one of these pixel formats will not need to be converted after being returned from Load. This improves performance, reduces temporary memory usage, and ensures preservation of exact color values.

All pixel formats in this list will also be present in SupportedPixelFormats.

This is the current list of native pixel formats:

Pixel formats will only ever be added to this list in future versions; they will never be removed. You can rely on the fact that if a pixel format is in this list in version X, it will be there in version X+1.

In general, you should use the pixel format that is most natural for loading the image data, without worrying about whether it is a "native" pixel format.
